Welcome. We’re glad you’re here.
This forum is meant to be the place where dog owners get real, careful, non-judgemental answers to questions about their dogs — health, food, behavior, cost, breeds, end-of-life, everything in between.
What this community is
- Honest. We don't sell you anything. We don't recommend products we wouldn’t feed our own dogs. When we don't know, we say so.
- Vet-reviewed. Health questions are answered by — or reviewed by — our veterinary team (Dr. Rachel Davis, Dr. Shalini Williams, Dr. Chirag and rotating contributors). When you see a vet reply, that's a real DVM-credentialed answer, not generic content.
- Evidence-based. We cite sources. When advice is opinion, we say so. When the science is unclear, we say that too.
- Welcoming. Beginner questions are great. Embarrassing questions are great. There are no dumb questions about dogs.
What this community isn’t
- A replacement for your vet. If your dog is acutely ill or injured, please call your vet or emergency clinic. We're here to help you think clearly, not to substitute for a hands-on exam.
- A place for promotional content. Affiliate links, sales pitches, breeder ads — not allowed.
- A place for breed bashing, training method tribalism, or judgement. We're all here for the same reason.
How to get the best answers
- Share specifics — breed, age, weight, what you've tried.
- Post photos if relevant (lumps, skin, posture, etc.).
- Tell us what you’ve already done so we can build on it.
One last thing — if a reply helps you, hit the like button or reply with what worked. It helps the next owner who has the same question.
— The PuppaDogs team
